    Knopf publisher Reagan Arthur and Pantheon Schocken publisher Lisa Lucas have both left the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group after four years, in a surprise move that KDPG president and publisher Maya Mavjee called "necessary for our future growth."

  • Simon & Schuster’s Adam Rothberg to Retire

    The senior v-p of corporate communications for S&S will retire at the end of July, ending a 35-year career with the company.

    The academic and research librarian at the Alder Graduate School of Education in Redwood City, Calif., has been elected president of the American Library Association for its 2025–2026 term.

  • CAA Appoints Managing Directors, New Board Members

    Chris Silbermann, whose clients include Dr. Seuss Enterprises, has been named one of nine managing directors at Creative Artists Agency, while motion picture literary department co-head Ida and literary agent Sloan Harris have joined the CAA board.

  • Ellen Adler to Step Down as Publisher of the New Press

    The New Press publisher Ellen Adler will step down from that role at the end of September, leaving the independent publisher of progressive books after a 21-year run.

  • Emily Bell Joins Astra House as Editorial Director

    The former head of editorial at Zando and longtime FSG editor has been named editorial director at Astra House, effective April 15. She succeeds Alessandra Bastagli, who left to head S&S's One Signal imprint in February.
